The iconic statue of Duke Kahanamoku is adorned with fresh flower lei, symbolizing unity and respect. This festive spectacle sets the stage for the thrilling Oceanfest ahead, capturing the essence of Hawaiian culture and fostering a sense of camaraderie among all in attendance.

Duke Kahanamoku Ocean Festival 501(c)(3) is held each summer in Waikiki in honor of Hawaiian legend Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, who is fondly remembered as the greatest waterman who ever lived. Held at venue sites throughout Waikiki , Duke Kahanamoku Ocean Festival features a variety of ocean sports that were close to Duke’s heart, including Surfing, Paddleboard Racing, Swimming, Volleyball, and more.
